New Children’s Book Turns Learning Math into an Adventure

Traverse City, Michigan—Mission Point Press announces the release of Land of Math, a new children’s picture book by Lan H. Reilly.

In Land of Math, the carefully ordered kingdom is populated by Ones, Tens, Hundreds—and even a mysterious Thousand! When everything is threatened through the mischievous antics of Prince Subtraction and Prince Addition, King Equation must find a way to keep his kingdom in order and his subjects happy.

When magical beans suddenly multiply the Ones and upset the kingdom’s carefully organized number system, King Equation seeks help from the powerful High Wizard of Ordinals. His quest leads to the magical Carry-Over and Borrow rivers, where familiar arithmetic concepts become part of the adventure: groups of ten Ones can become a Ten, while larger numbers can be broken apart and regrouped when needed.

Set in the imaginary “Land of Math with an A,” this delightful adventure blends creative storytelling with academic fundamentals, providing an accessible and engaging way for children to master basic arithmetic and logic.

Reilly creates a world that blends fantasy, humor, unique illustrations, and mathematical concepts to appeal to readers interested in STEAM for kids. Land of Math is a refreshing and memorable take on why numbers move, combine, and separate through artistic storytelling involving characters, conflict, and play. As Reilly states, “Magic spells, giants, and wizards—oh my! What better way to learn math?”
